The government is distributing tickets to students and administration...

The scandal of the 4 million euros given by the government for Kanye West's concert seems to be taking on even greater proportions.

A day after Prime Minister Edi Rama admitted that the state intervened with 4 million euros from the budget reserve fund to avoid the cancellation of the concert, reports are increasing that the organizers are trying to fill the stadium by distributing free tickets to schools and public administration.

According to Monitor reports, by the end of May, around 25,000 tickets had been sold, while the arena built in Kashar has double the capacity, which raised serious questions about the real interest in the event.

The suspicions are that the government's financial intervention served not only to guarantee the concert's development, but also to cover the hole created by unsold tickets.

Meanwhile, reports and messages have begun circulating on social media, according to which free tickets are being distributed to school students under the pretext of "recognizing outstanding students." In other cases, public administration employees claim to have been notified of a "lottery" or free distribution of tickets.

Also, according to denunciations published online, efforts have been made to offer tickets to influential people on social media, as part of promotional collaborations for the event.

If these allegations prove to be true, then a big question arises: are the public administration and education system being used to fill a private concert, after the state intervened with millions of euros to save it?

The controversy has increased even more since the government itself, until a few weeks ago, insisted that the concert was a completely private initiative and that no public funds would be involved. Only at the last moment, Prime Minister Edi Rama admitted that 4 million euros were allocated from the state reserve fund, arguing that canceling the concert would damage Albania's image.

The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, has also reacted to this issue, accusing the government of using students to cover up the failure of the organization.

" Behind the facade of 'excellent and accomplished students', there is a void in the hall that must be filled using schools. This is because Rama has been a man of facades and remained so. Excellent students need financial support from the state, not to be used as filler for private parties. The reserve fund was not touched to save lives at the Oncology Department, it was not used to buy missing medicines, nor to help the country's talents. It was used to line the pockets of a private individual ," Noka declared.
