The US military's Central Command (CENTCOM) has provided new details on the latest wave of attacks on Iran, stating that the operation aims to hold Tehran "accountable" for what it described as unjustified aggression against commercial vessels and civilian crews.
" Through these attacks, the United States is holding Iran accountable for its latest unprovoked aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews navigating freely in a vital international waterway ," said the statement released by CENTCOM on the X platform.
Meanwhile, Iranian state news agency IRNA reported a power outage in the port city of Chabahar, shortly after Iranian media reported explosions in the area.
So far, Iranian authorities have not given an official assessment of the damage or casualties, while the situation in southern Iran remains evolving.
