VALEN coalition MPs Adnan Azizi and Bekim Qoku have reacted after being stopped at the Qafë Thana border crossing.
Through a reaction on social media, Azizi has issued a strong message, stating that no power will prevent them from entering Albania.
" In all those years of political action, no power or tyrant has frightened or deterred us. Much less those of Open Balkan. Albania is no one's property. It is as much ours as it is every Albanian's, regardless of who governs in Tirana. Powers are temporary. Albania is permanent. Albania always remains Albanians'! ", writes Azizi. They have also responded in the media.
The reaction comes after the VALEN coalition officially requested clarification from Albanian authorities about the detention of its three officials at the border, stating that they were held for about an hour without any explanation, even though they were traveling on diplomatic passports.
According to VLEN, the border police only communicated to them unofficially that there was a ban on their entry into Albanian territory, but without presenting any decision or legal basis for this measure.
The incident has caused reactions on both sides of the border and comes at a time when debate has increased following the detention of individuals who, according to reports, have expressed support for the civic protest against the Albanian government.
