The failure of the Socialist Party in the Tirana region is obvious. The majority, despite sending the number one candidate in Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, and Senator Pandeli Majko, has lost in the municipalities of Kamëz and Kavajë.
A careful reading of the results in these areas reveals a political reality that, more than openly, has been played out behind the scenes.
In Kamëz, for example, even though Agron Shehaj received about 1,500 votes, which are naturally on the right, and almost as many as Lulzim Basha's party with Shemsi Premçi, the DP has an advantage of 1,000 votes over the SP. When the municipality, a year ago, was easily won by Rakip Suli, who is related to Premçi. A signal that shows that we have tribal votes.
Politically, the head of the district, Elisa Spiropali, and the delegate Lindita Nikolla, who were both on the closed list, lost. But how did they lose?
Even being placed on the closed list shows a clear political reality; an unwritten agreement between Edi Rama and Tom Doshi, whose party received over 1,700 votes in Kamëz.
However, Kavaja is the most interesting political area for the vote counting. Rama had sent Pandeli Majko and Elisa Spiropali there.
The conclusion?
In addition to the city of Kavaja, the SP also lost Golem, which had a historical bastion, even on its worst day, lost Helmësi, also a bastion, Syneji, and easily won in Luz i Vogël, an area where the SP also won in 1992.
That Pandeli Majko is not a player who moves votes in the territory is no longer a mystery. Majko, in 1992, became an MP from the proportional list, in 1997 he won as part of the anti-Berisha wave, in 2001 and 2005 he barely won in Maliq, making an alliance with the Koloneci family that ran a member of it for the communists. In 2013, he became an MP in unit 5 in Tirana, in 2021, he lost but was replaced along the way and now he has lost again.
Majko, although he boasted that he has an electorate in Kavaja that loves him, especially in Qerret where he lives in his father-in-law's house, is known for his unappealing personality with people.
In 2021, after failing to break the quotient, he locked himself at home for a long time and did not appear in any PS activity, until Edi Rama guaranteed him that he would take the place of another candidate who would resign. But today he is not guaranteed, since the basis is the number of votes.
However, it is a bit strange that Spiropali and Majko could not convince the PS bastions in Kavaja to vote for them, when in 2021, Erion Veliaj as the mayor of the district did so by a large margin.
The Elvis Rroshi factor is clearly and strongly visible here. The former mayor of Kavaja and Edi Rama's cousin was mentioned a lot in this campaign, as there was a candidate for the DP, his cousin Elton Rroshi.
Rroshi was mentioned by Spiropali and Rama, not to attack him, but to smear Berisha for working with our criminals.
On the other hand, "Rama's criminal" dried up not the swamp but the sea of votes for the SP and Pandeli Majko. Apparently, Edi Rama is safer with Elton Rroshi in Parliament than with Majko. He has sent him with many senators who will start cursing and cursing about "the former glory of the SP that made them prime ministers and ministers".
Meanwhile, Rama is left with a closed list and those who have won according to his orientation, or that of his friends, such as Orlando of Qife who gave the SP triumph in Vora and Rrogozhina.
