The two new MPs who emerged from the May 11 elections, Besart Xhaferri from the DP and Ardit Bido from the SP, have been involved in a fierce debate regarding the electoral process.
Ardit Bido, the youngest MP in Parliament, from the Vlora district, has responded to Xhaferri's accusations (MP elected from the closed list of the DP in the Tirana district) by describing them as empty rhetoric.
Faced with Xhafer's claims of election manipulation, Bido challenged Xhafer to find a person who had sought votes for him in public institutions.
" If you find me in an institution, a person who has asked for votes for Ardit Bido, that is, for me, I will give up my mandate. I am not talking about individual votes, because my classmate is and will give me her vote, but for other institutions. The fact that citizens vote the way they do is because of your rhetoric as the opposition. You want to appear as angels and make us devils, but this is a rhetoric that has led you to defeat ," said Bido.
The debate between the two new MPs continued tensely, with mutual accusations in the "NOW with Erla Mëhillin" studio.
