Ilir Alimehmeti, the DP candidate for MP who was massively voted for in Tirana, will not be in the Assembly as the DP failed to obtain more than one mandate on the open list.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, Alimehmeti stated that the electoral system demotivates people from voting, but he did not hide his dissatisfaction with the list of DP candidates.
Ilir Alimehmeti : This system is bad for people because it demotivates them to vote and removes them from politics. It has been taking decision-making power away from the people for two decades. When you take it away gradually and progressively, then we say that the people and the young people are not interested. The second problem, such a system produces a weak Parliament.
