The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted to the Albanian government's stance regarding the statements of Serbian Minister Snezhana Paunovic, accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of choosing not to react to them.
During a conversation with citizens, Berisha said that the Serbian minister's statements have prompted numerous reactions in the international arena, while, according to him, the Albanian authorities have not maintained the same stance.
The opposition leader harshly criticized Prime Minister Rama, accusing him of maintaining a close approach to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and of not protecting the interests of Albanians.
"The statements of the monster minister from Belgrade, with which she proves that the best solution to interethnic problems is ethnic cleansing and genocide, have received international condemnation.
The European Commission has reacted strongly through its spokesperson. The Commissioner for Enlargement, Mrs. Kos, has also reacted for the sake of truth. The spokesperson for the Foreign Office, the British Foreign Ministry, has reacted strongly.
But dozens and dozens of MPs and personalities in Serbia itself have reacted for the sake of truth. The Republic of Kosovo has declared him non-grata. Edi Rama and his shameful spokesmen in the Foreign Ministry have been silent as a blade of grass. And not only silent, but Edi Rama declared that he cannot get involved in hysterics every time a sycophant says this or that. Edi Rama is a slave, a vassal of Vučić.
"Albanians should understand well what these people are, what they represent, who do not accept the condemnation of the Serbian genocide in Kosovo. And now when Aleksandar Vučić's minister declares that Kosovo should be ethnically cleansed, Edi Rama called her a sycophant. She is a wild anti-Albanian racist who, under all the laws of the world, deserves the most severe punishments. But Rama is Vučić's servant, a fierce enemy of the Albanians and their cause," Berisha said.
