The promise of opening up the SP faded as soon as the cabinet was formed: the young people were left out, while the ministers and leaders are the same worn-out names from four mandates...
Edi Rama supported the May 11 campaign on the slogan of renewing the Socialist Party, opening it up and replacing the team by almost 50 percent.
But when the new government was formed, Rama did not appoint any of the newcomers to the parliamentary group, except for two or three names that are not related to this function, as they are part of his personal faction and clan.
Rama's entire fourth government is filled with "old rust", worn down by abuse of power, from number one to the most recent minister. All are names recycled from previous cabinets. Even those who present themselves as new, like Besfort Lamallari, have two mandates as deputy minister, while the Minister of Agriculture was the mayor of Cerrik.
Even the leadership of parliamentary committees, which in theory belongs to new SP MPs, was given to the same "veterans" of the government: Fatmir Xhafë, Ulsi Manjë, Igli Hasani, Anila Denaj, Arbër Maznik, Damian Gjiknuri or Taulant Balla.
Rama did not give any role to the names he brought to Tirana with a critical profile, such as Erion Braçe. Although he entrusted him with the most important area of Tirana, unit no. 5, Braçe was not appointed either to the leadership of the parliamentary group, or to the economy committee, or to any executive position. This is a political signal: Rama tolerates a “mistrem” voice, but does not promote it. His model for promotion is clear: you become a deputy minister or prefect if you call Rama a “genius” or a “visionary” in television appearances. If you increase the dose of servility, like some of the “strawberries” of the cabinet, you manage to become a minister and do not move from there.
Meanwhile, any young person who has come with a normal political profile, without being servile and daring to appear on shows without the order of propaganda, has been punished. The clearest proof is Lavdrim Krashi. Brought from Great Britain as a leader in the diaspora community, he was initially appointed the political head of the Dibër district. But then he was gradually demoted until he was excluded from the list of May 11.
Krashi, even though he was one of the MPs with a clean image and who had publicly denounced corrupt officials, was not re-nominated. No reason was given, except for the rumors circulating around Rama's establishment: "He ate his mouth," they said. That is, he spoke more than he should have. A concept similar to the Sicilian mafia's omerta: "He spoke when he should have remained silent."/ Pamphlet
