A session of challenges and battles, as paradoxical as it is described by Democratic MP Agron Gjekmarkaj, this new parliamentary session. At a time when the opposition calls the May 11 elections a farce, he chooses to go to the Assembly to use every opportunity to communicate with citizens, but also with internationals.
In the studio of "Off the Record" with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN, Gjekmarkaj leveled accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama, who according to him has created a neo-Ottoman reality.
" This is a session of challenges and battles for the opposition. I know it seems paradoxical, we are in parliament and we do not recognize May 11. Instead of elections, we had a farce in every aspect. The OSCE report said that the party and the state are one. Manipulated elections and a facade that we will denounce and will not stop doing again. We are in parliament also for this and to use every remaining space to communicate with Albanians and internationals. In the morning in parliament I could not tell whether we are in reality neo-Ottoman or neo-communist? We are in a paradoxical reality and I felt it every minute and hour that I was in parliament ," he said on A2 CNN.
Gjekmarkaj goes further with the accusations against the head of government, adding that he is attempting to undermine the opposition and the Constitution.
" There is talk of Europe, chapters and principles, and the behavior is either neo-Ottoman or neo-communist to eliminate and silence the opposition, to reverse the constitution and then the rules of the assembly violated by the socialists, changing the entire structure to reduce the opposition ," he said.
He sees the opposition's behavior in the Assembly as a consequence of the majority's behavior.
" It is not our fault that history repeats itself. It should have been a history of progress, not a series of ups and downs. We are in a moment of decline, we have given in to the elections, economic freedom and the media are in regression ," he added.
