Two Albanians have been arrested by Italian police on charges of drug trafficking. The young men, both in their 20s, were caught red-handed with 6 doses of cocaine and 500 euros in hand.
Investigators discovered that the drugs had previously been hidden in a peppermint jar in a bush near the area. In total, 45 doses of cocaine, about 25 grams, were seized, as well as packaging materials in the apartment of a 51-year-old Italian man who was sheltering them, who was reported for collaboration.
Police confirmed that the young men will face the obligation to sign and deportation proceedings from Italy. The investigation shows a similar scheme to a previous case in November, where drugs were also hidden in candy jars.
