Footage of the robbery of a jewelry store in Kamëz has been released, where two masked men are seen quickly entering the business and taking jewelry at gunpoint.
In the released video, one of the perpetrators is seen with a weapon similar to a Kalashnikov, while the other uses a hammer to break the glass of the jewelry counter.
The entire incident lasted only a few seconds. As the perpetrators entered the store, the saleswoman at the back closed the door to avoid confronting the robbers.
According to sources from the investigation group, the perpetrators fled immediately after the robbery in the direction of Zallherri, using a motorcycle. Security cameras have helped investigators determine their route, however identification remains difficult as in all the footage they appear masked with spacesuits.
The police have questioned the jewelry store employee, who stated that she did not directly confront the robbers, as she was in the back of the store at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, officers have accompanied several people with criminal records to the area for verifications regarding the incident.
The robbery scheme in Kamëz?
The robbery of the jewelry store in Kamëz took place on Saturday afternoon and lasted less than a minute. Two masked men wearing spacesuits arrived at the business on a motorcycle, which they left outside the jewelry store before entering.
One of the perpetrators was armed with an automatic weapon, similar to a Kalashnikov, while the other used a hammer to break the windows of the display case and the counter where the jewelry was located. At that moment, the jewelry store employee was in the back of the store and avoided contact with the robbers by not going near the counter.
After taking gold and silver items worth an estimated 700 thousand lek, the perpetrators quickly fled on a motorbike towards the road known as "Londra", then continued towards the Zall Herri area.
According to preliminary investigations, their movements were tracked by security cameras, but identification was difficult as the perpetrators did not take off their spacesuits at any point. During their escape, they are suspected of having fallen off their motorcycle, but were able to get away again.
