The Berat Court has sentenced four people accused of distributing narcotics in a nightclub in the town of Dimal.
According to the Prosecution's investigations, the criminal activity took place at the "Star Club" bar, where customers were sold cocaine in small doses, which were then consumed in the bar's restrooms.
At the center of the scheme was the owner of the bar, citizen EV, who organized and coordinated the sale of drugs. The bodyguard, manager, and waiter of the bar are also suspected of being involved in this activity.
The investigations began after information was received that EV was involved in the distribution of high-intensity cocaine in the city and surrounding areas.
The prosecution discovered that the narcotic substance was kept hidden in a block of the surrounding wall of the bar, while the rest was stored in the owner's apartment. The cocaine was sold in doses of 0.2 to 0.5 grams, with prices ranging from 2 thousand to 5 thousand lekë.
From the wiretaps and simulated purchases, it emerged that the defendants used the term "amaro" as a code for cocaine, in order to avoid suspicion during communications between them.
The court found the four defendants guilty of the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", committed in collaboration.
The owner of the bar with the initials EV was sentenced to 12 years in prison, but due to the summary trial, the sentence was reduced to 8 years in prison.
While the other three defendants with the initials KI, KD and RI, were each sentenced to 4 years and 8 months in prison.
