A 33-year-old man was caught red-handed by police, as there were reports that he was carrying a weapon.
In an official announcement, the Police announced the finalization of the operation codenamed "Operation 72", which led to the arrest of citizen Erik Çela, 33 years old, resident of Lushnje.
"As a result of information provided about a citizen who was moving armed in Lushnja, the services of the Special Operational Force Directorate of the General Directorate of the State Police, within the framework of the operation "Operacionalja 72", located and captured in the "Loni Dhamo" neighborhood the citizen E. Ç., who was carrying an automatic pistol firearm, which was seized as material evidence, along with a magazine with 11 cartridges.
At the conclusion of the procedural actions, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Lushnja Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen E. Ç., 33 years old, resident of Lushnja, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed production and possession of weapons and ammunition".
"The procedural materials were passed to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further action," the Police announced.
