Kamza police arrested 20-year-old Ervis Brasha on November 2, who was caught driving his vehicle, wearing a police uniform and official badge.
Investigations revealed that the young man was posing as a police officer, and in some cases even as a police chief, and had managed to send "orders" via fake email to police officers. Also, posing as a police officer, he contacted officers of the Port of Durres, interfering in their work and obtaining information from them.
During the search of his apartment, four suspected forged identity cards, a sports gun, a police uniform, 16 badges and leadership ranks, as well as three hats with State Police insignia were found and seized.
Brasha had established contacts with real police officers, wrote to them on social media, and posted photos and videos of state institutions while wearing uniform. On several occasions, he even entered the Security Academy, filming inside the premises without official authorization, raising suspicions that he may have had help from insiders.
According to investigative sources, the 20-year-old is suspected of having obtained money by threatening citizens, but the possibility of him being used by criminal groups to pose as a police officer in illegal actions is also being investigated.
The materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for in-depth investigations.
