300 thousand euros worth of gold jewelry was stolen from a businessman's

The robbery and rape of an Italian businessman has led to the arrest of the third suspected perpetrator, who belongs to an Albanian gang operating in the neighboring country, "specializing" in house raids.

The arrests were made between Trento and Milan, while two of them had been captured earlier.

The arrested are Klodjan Cesku, 31, and Arsild Memaj, 21, a construction worker near the villa. The third arrested man, also Albanian and a resident of Bari, was on holiday with his family at Gardaland, on Lake Garda near Verona.

He was accompanied by a fourth suspected gang associate, who, however, was only charged at large. Still missing is the loot of 300,000 euros in cash and gold jewelry stolen from the dismantled wall safe.

The robbery took place at the villa of Italian businessman Eugenio Gallizioli, a well-known textile entrepreneur and owner of Manifatture Lombarde, from Trentino, on the night between October 7 and 8.

Andrea de Bertolini, Gallizioli's lawyer, commented:

"This is an important result, undoubtedly due to the expertise and speed of the Carabinieri in their investigation. We believe that all the robbers will soon be definitively identified and we hope that the stolen goods will now be recovered. Gallizioli thanks the investigators for their professionalism."

According to investigators, they are a very skilled criminal group, accustomed to planning similar crimes. One of the arrested men worked at a construction site not far from Gallizioli's house. During the investigation, the method by which the robbers entered the villa, through a window, was also clarified.

The 72-year-old was found asleep and held hostage for more than four hours in his villa on Via Falzolgher in Trento, between San Bartolomeo and Villazzano. At gunpoint and with a knife to his throat, the victim was forced to reveal the location of the safe in the living room.

When Gallizioli refused to give the combination to the safe, two of the thieves drove away in the businessman's "Skoda Octavia Sedan" car towards the construction site, where one of them was working, and stole the opening device (mill) for the safe, Italian media reports.

After the robbery, they abandoned the businessman's vehicle, while security camera footage helped in the investigation. The hunt for the stolen loot is still underway, to recover it.

Klodjan Cesku was sent to Spini di Gardolo prison, Arsild Memaj to Milan prison, and the third arrested in Verona, all awaiting trial.
