
Saranda Police have solved the knife attack that occurred yesterday morning. Police have announced that they have arrested the suspected perpetrator after several hours of searching.
According to official data, Ylber Hamzaj, 45 years old, a resident of Kryemadh, Kukës, has been arrested, accused of stabbing 42-year-old Olsi Muçodemi .
The incident occurred after a momentary conflict between two people, who did not know each other. Sources from the investigation indicate that the argument began for trivial reasons, after a verbal altercation with the phrase "why are you looking at me".
During the conflict, the 45-year-old is suspected of pulling out a knife and striking Muçodemi, causing wounds to his chest and hand.
After the attack, the perpetrator immediately left the scene in order to avoid arrest and is suspected of attempting to leave Saranda.
The police managed to identify the perpetrator through security cameras of businesses near the scene of the incident and organized checks in several areas of the city. The 45-year-old was located and arrested in the area of Qafë e Gjashtës. It is reported that, at the time of the arrest, the perpetrator was in a drunken state.
It is also learned that Hamzaj had only arrived in Saranda for work reasons a few days earlier.
Meanwhile, the injured 42-year-old is receiving medical treatment, while police continue their investigations to fully document the incident.
