Italian media continue to provide details on the SPAK and Anti-Mafia operation...
Italian media have provided further details on the operation a few days ago, which targeted an Albanian network that trafficked drugs to the neighboring country and then to EU countries.
According to " Corriere Della Sera ", one of the warehouses of a construction company in Palazzolo and a series of underground garages in Rovato were the two "bases" where the drugs were stored in Brescia.
“ Eduart Leba, a 38-year-old from Durrës, worked for the construction company that was later used as a “hub” in Palazzolo, apparently without the knowledge of the owner. He was responsible for “receiving cocaine shipments from the courier, storing and distributing them”. His compatriot Risardo Musaj, 24, was said to be in charge of the Rovato warehouse: “He received cocaine shipments from the courier, stored and distributed them, paid the courier and collected money after the drugs were sold”. At the head of this organization was Elvis Doçi (Visi i Pojës), 48: he is believed to be “the promoter and director of the organization, capable of maintaining contacts with international drug traffickers. He decided on imports to Italy, determining the quantities, timing and prices. He gave instructions to other members, who had to inform him immediately of the results of the imports and the proceeds from the distribution ”, the article states.
Nine other Albanians in the second "phase" of the investigation lived between Marcheno, Brescia, Sarezzo, Capriolo, Castel Mella, Erbusco and Paratico. The financial police identified shipments of up to one hundred kilograms of cocaine, arriving from South America through the ports of Northern Europe, then distributed by land. The heroin, on the other hand, came from the Balkans and "traveled" by bus. The criminal group received information directly from Albania, where the proceeds in cash were then returned thanks to "cash safes".
Among those under investigation is a businessman from Bergamo, who is suspected of providing trucks and drivers. A 44-year-old man from Lecce, a suspected point of contact between Albanian traffickers and Sacra Corona Unita, has also been arrested.
During the investigation, the Brescia Fire Department and the Central SCICO seized 550,000 euros, ten cars, a pistol and 130 kilograms of drugs worth 12 million euros on the market.
