The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has released new details regarding the injury that occurred today at the "Martyrs' Boulevard" square in Podujeva, where four people were injured by gunfire.
According to the Prosecution, investigations so far have shown that the suspects are family members, specifically nephew and uncle, while the suspected motive for the incident is related to a previous dispute. It has also been learned that three weapons were found at the scene, which are suspected to have been used during the fight.
The spokesperson for the Pristina region Police, Agron Borovci Shabani, also spoke about the case, announcing that at around 2:00 PM, the police received information about gunshots in the center of Podujeva.
According to him, three of the injured were directly involved in the incident, while the fourth is a bystander who suffered minor bodily injuries.
Shabani said that the motives of the incident have not yet been revealed and that investigations are ongoing, while competent bodies are collecting evidence to clarify the full circumstances of the incident.
He also explained the presence of a police officer dressed in civilian clothes at the scene, stating that he was an investigator from the Podujeva Police Station, who was on official duty and intervened to prevent further escalation of the situation.
Meanwhile, the four injured are receiving treatment at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCK). The Director of the Emergency Clinic, Naser Syla, said that all patients have gunshot wounds.
"Their condition is serious, but stable. One of them has been taken to the operating room, while the other three are being treated at the Emergency Center. The four are middle-aged ," Syla declared.
