Former Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has reacted sharply to the accusations that, according to her, have been leveled at her, stating that she will not allow anyone to label her as a "traitor" or "seller of territory." She warned that she will pursue legal action against defamation and insults.
Invited to the show "Debat Plus", Osmani said that throughout her political career she has defended the interests of the state and not the opposite.
" I will never, ever allow anyone, regardless of which party they belong to, to come out and declare me a traitor or a seller of my country's territory, because I have done exactly the opposite. For these things that have been said, for the numerous insults and slanders, the institutions of justice will be taken, outside of politics ," Osmani declared.
Asked about her ambitions in the Democratic League of Kosovo, Osmani said that her focus is strengthening the party and bringing citizens closer, not competing for positions.
" I am in the race to grow the LDK, I am in the race to convince the citizens of Kosovo. Since the June 7 elections, I have not stopped meeting with the citizens. We must work to grow our ranks, not to reduce them or to fight each other. In this regard, we will work together with Lumir, as well as with others who have different positions, because strengthening the Republic of Kosovo in these delicate moments must be a priority ," she said.
Osmani also emphasized that her name has not been and will not become an obstacle to the creation of institutions in Kosovo.
" My name has never been an obstacle to the creation of institutions and never will be. I will not allow my name to become an obstacle to the creation of institutions in any way ," said the former president.
In the end, she underlined that she will continue her political and public engagement, despite attacks or attempts to remove her from the political scene.
" I will defend until the last day the integrity of my work and the interests of the state. I do not need positions to contribute to Kosovo. Anyone who tries to tarnish my work will face every legal and political means. I have been declared politically dead hundreds of times, but such a thing will not happen ," concluded Osmani.
