A 22-year-old man has been arrested by police in Tirana after being caught on security cameras stealing bicycles and skateboards.
Young Ernest Peka is accused of a series of 6 thefts, including five bicycles and a scooter. The attacks were carried out in the capital, in different neighborhoods, and during the months of May and November.
He is also being investigated for the theft of a store. The stolen vehicles are suspected to have been sold in various areas of the capital.
According to police, the 22-year-old has been previously convicted for the same activity.
"The services of Police Station No. 4 in cooperation with Police Station No. 2, in continuation of the work to prevent thefts, uncover those that occurred previously and bring the perpetrators to legal responsibility, after a thorough investigative work, identified and arrested the citizen:
-EP, 22 years old, resident of Tirana.
From the investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen is the author of the theft of 6 bicycles, 1 monopath during the months of May and November, which were sold by this citizen in various areas of Tirana and 1 store.
"Work continues to document other thefts that may have been committed by this citizen. The materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural actions," the police announced.
