At least 35 commercial ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours, according to MarineTraffic data, as Qatari leaders meet with senior US and Iranian officials in Doha.
A total of 20 ships entered the Persian Gulf, 11 cargo ships and nine tankers. Another 15 ships left the Gulf, consisting of nine tankers and six cargo ships.
These figures remain consistent with the low transit rates observed in recent weeks. Before the war, an average of about 110 ships passed through the strait each day.
The region has also experienced months of GPS jamming, a form of navigation interference that causes ships' transmitted positions to appear in incorrect locations. The jamming activity has eased significantly in recent weeks.
