The tragedy that shook Euboea and Beotia took on an even more serious and painful dimension. The mother of the 27-year-old Albanian construction worker, found burned inside a car in Skurta, Beotia on November 8, passed away yesterday from a cardiac arrest, unable to cope with the loss of her son.

According to initial reports, the 27-year-old went to Vilia to meet a woman he had met through a dating app. But instead of a meeting, a well-organized ambush was set up.
According to the information so far, the perpetrators held him hostage for about 24 hours, tortured him, then shot him to death. They then transferred the body to Skurta and set fire to the car to cover their tracks.
The car in which the body was found was reported stolen in May from Glyfada and bore license plates from another car in Pieria. This detail, according to the police, indicates that a network organized with a “professional” method may be behind the crime.
Homicide investigators believe the 27-year-old was killed at another location and then transported to the deserted area where the burned-out car was found.
