SPAK officially takes former prison director Agim Ismaili under investigation. The latter has been taken under investigation in connection with what is considered an attempted hacking of the SPAK system. Ismaili appeared today at the SPAK premises, where he remained for more than 60 minutes.
A few months ago, two more people were arrested, Zambak Gjoni and Arnold Rrokaj.
Gjoni is accused by SPAK of attempting to access the emails of three special prosecutors, obtaining some data, but without having access to investigative files.
The hackers attempted to obtain information from the computers of 3 special prosecutors, Behar Dibra, Enkeleida Millonai and Elida Kaçkini, but according to the Prosecution, they were unable to penetrate the internal IT system.
Meanwhile, Rrokaj, a former IMT employee, is accused of having, in collaboration with Gjon, attempted to access the email of SPAK director Altin Dumani, but without success.
Both of these people have distributed the documents they managed to obtain to other people, who are suspected to be two journalists, but also the former head of prisons, Agim Ismaili, and Dritan Palikaj, Secretary General at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The incident occurred on March 12 and arrests were made within 24 hours. The equipment and files used in the intrusion were seized by authorities.
According to them, thanks to security measures, it was not possible to interfere with the internal system of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), which remained intact.
