A 43-year-old man has been arrested by Tirana Police after being caught with a Kalashnikov, a shotgun and ammunition that he was carrying without a permit in his apartment in the village of Allgjatë, Vaqarr.
The arrest was carried out as part of the operation codenamed "Guns", conducted by officers of Police Commissariat No. 6, following an investigation conducted in cooperation with the Tirana Prosecutor's Office.
According to the police, during a search of the apartment of the 43-year-old man with the initials SA, in the village of Allgjatë in Vaqarr, a Kalashnikov-type firearm (AK-47), two magazines and 81 cartridges, as well as a shotgun with 24 cartridges, which were possessed without the relevant authorization, were discovered and seized .
The 43-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions.
"The operation codenamed "Guns" against illegal possession of weapons is being finalized by Police Station No. 6.

As a result of an investigation conducted by the services of Police Commissariat No. 6, in coordination with the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, with the aim of documenting the criminal activity of a citizen suspected of illegal possession of several weapons, the operation codenamed "Guns" was finalized, during which citizen SA, 43 years old, was arrested in flagrante delicto.
During the search of his apartment, in the village of Allgjatë, Vaqarr, 1 firearm (Kalashnikov, AK-47), 2 combs and 81 Kalashnikov cartridges, as well as 1 shotgun with 24 cartridges, which were possessed without a permit, were found.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
