An interesting development occurred today in the trial against Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi, as SPAK submitted a list of nearly 30 names for questioning.
Meta and Kryemadhi are accused of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets, in connection with the CEZ-DIA case and lobbying contracts with the United States of America.
Several interesting names stand out on the list, which risk undermining Ilir Meta. Taking them in turn, at the top is Jozef Hejsek , the former CEO of CEZ.
It is not known whether he will be found and brought to testify, but it must be said that in the Arbitration, Hejsek stated that Ilir Meta had recommended Kastriot Ismailaj as his "trustee" for the collection of old debts on behalf of CEZ Distribution.
The name that really jeopardizes Ilir Meta's position is Elvis Mata , executive director of the DIA company, which made deals with the collection of overdue debts.
SPAK's investigations are based on a lawsuit filed by lawyer Romeo Kara, and in this lawsuit, the lawyer has detailed Elvis Mataj's movements. Kara even had conversations with him, which he recounts in the lawsuit.
It should be noted that Elvis Mata also played an essential role in the trial of Kastriot Ismailaj, who was sentenced to prison.
Kara has also recounted conversations with former DIA official Elvis Mataj. According to him, he has recounted Meta's connections with Kastriot Ismailaj. " According to what Ismailaj himself or the former DIA executive director Elvis Mataj has claimed several times, in different settings, the Meta-Ismailaj duo met in Prague with the duo Martin Roman & Tomas Pleskash, who were respectively the number 1 and 2 managers of CEZ Group. Ismailaj, with boasting, on more than one occasion, has claimed that the former ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Prague, Qazim Tepshi, was deliberately injured by the Czech side, so that he would not be present at the aforementioned meeting ," the lawyer confessed.
Meanwhile, the SPAK file notes that important data is obtained from the minutes dated 23.09.2021, "Minutes of transcription of conversations, recorded with video and audio located on USB", of the two USBs, which contain the recordings made by journalist Artan Hoxha with citizen Elvis Mataj.
The recordings are audio and video and the participants in the conversation are Elvis Mataj and Artan Hoxha, as well as the cameraman who records them. From the footage and content of the audio conversations, it is clear that the conversation is free and none of the interlocutors is under pressure or threatened. These two USBs were submitted to the Special Prosecutor's Office by journalist Artan Hoxha.
In this recording, citizen Elvis Mataj testifies to a series of circumstances related to the CEZ-DIA case, citizen Kastriot Ismailaj, his acquaintances with citizen Ilir Meta and his relationship with him, his connections with citizen Petrit Ahmeti, etc.
Two other important names are Kastriot Ismailaj and Vojsava Ismailaj . The first has not agreed to testify against Ilir Meta so far. But his wife, Vojsava, has given an interview that completely sinks Ilir Meta. In that interview, she talks about money, pressure, bargaining, etc. And to strengthen this, SPAK has also called as a witness the journalist who interviewed him, Fatos Mahmutaj.
Meanwhile, two interesting names stand out on the list, Baton Haxhiu and Bashkim Ulaj . The former has even been questioned by SPAK.
In 2003, Ilir Meta bought a villa in Golem worth 60 thousand USD. According to the first declaration of Ilir Meta's assets, the villa also had a 327 m2 garden. To cover the value of the villa, Ilir Meta says that he took out a loan at the Italo-Albanian Bank at the time. In 2006, three years later, Ilir Meta sold the villa in Golem for 300 thousand euros to a well-known businessman. The amount earned from the sale of the apartment was not declared by the former president to the HIDAKKI in the years 2007-2009. The same apartment was resold in 2021 by the businessman to the journalist Baton Haxhiu for 80 thousand euros. Suspicions are that Baton Haxhiu is part of a money laundering scheme.
As for Bashkim Ulaj, the head of "Gener 2" has been involved in a discussion, almost an economic clash, with Ilir Meta regarding the procedures for laying optical fibers and other infrastructure projects. The conversations obtained by SPAK show a series of secret meetings between Bashkim Ulaj and businessman Adrian Shatku, cousin of Monika Kryemadhi, who admitted to the media her friendship with the businessman.
There was even a meeting between Shatku and Ulaj, where the former wrote to Kryemadhi that the businessman had agreed to the withdrawal plan, but she told him to be careful of him.
So, it seems that the testimonies in the GJKKO will be very interesting, as there are many people in question who know a lot about the Meta-Kryemadhi duo, while there are also those, like the last two, who are also involved themselves. /Pamphlet
