Salianji said that Berisha is engaging in "political theater," publicly attacking Rama, but avoiding a direct confrontation with him in Parliament.
Through a post on social media, democrat Ervin Salianji criticized the boycott of the session by the opposition and the absence of Sali Berisha at a time when Prime Minister Edi Rama was present in the Assembly.
According to him, Berisha is developing a "political theater", publicly attacking Rama, but avoiding a direct confrontation with him in Parliament.
"Sali Berisha committed another act of betrayal today against the democrats and the opposition. It is no coincidence that more and more democrats and citizens are demanding his removal, considering him part of the same co-government with Edi Rama," says Salianji.
He adds that, while citizens are protesting against the government and expecting a strong political confrontation in the Assembly, Berisha chooses to leave the session, according to him, creating an opportunity for the Prime Minister.
"Sali Berisha committed another act of betrayal against the democrats and the opposition today. It is no coincidence that more and more democrats and citizens are demanding his removal, considering him part of the same co-government with Edi Rama. In cooperation with each other, they are desperately seeking Rama every day when Rama is absent, and while he comes to parliament, Berisha abandons him with a theater that everyone has now understood!
At a time when citizens have risen up against the government and Albania expects a strong parliamentary showdown with Rama, Berisha chooses to engage in political theater in the morning, just to pave the way and not to put the prime minister in difficulty during his appearance in the session.
"The Rama-Berisha regime is suffocating democracy, annihilating the real opposition and co-ruling to the detriment of the public interest. Albanians deserve a real alternative, not a staged conflict that ultimately serves to keep the same system in power ," Salianji wrote on social media.
