According to the official announcement, Skender was being transported from the Fier Police Station to the Kuçovë Police Station, as he was suspected of the criminal offense of "Disturbing public peace".
During the escort, he clashed with police officer AT, 20 years old, and grabbed his service weapon, injuring him.
Immediately after the incident, the police patrol intervened, neutralizing the 45-year-old and taking his weapon.
The injured officer was transported to the hospital for medical attention and, according to police, his life is out of danger.
During the physical search of Skender, the blue uniforms found a quantity of narcotics, suspected to be cocaine, hidden in his body.
" Around 19:00, the services of the Kuçovë Police Commissariat were escorting citizen ZS, 45 years old, resident of Kuçovë, from the Fier Police Commissariat to the premises of the Kuçovë Police Commissariat. During the escort, citizen ZS had a conflict with Police officer AT, 20 years old, and during the conflict he took his service weapon and wounded him ," the police statement said.
The investigative group and the Police Supervision Agency, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, are investigating the full circumstances of the incident, as well as the procedures followed during the escort of the 45-year-old man.
