Two Albanians wanted by French justice for theft have been arrested in England and the extradition process has begun against them.
It is reported that Armando Bela, 29, originally from Lezha, appeared before the extradition court as a person wanted through a European arrest warrant from France.
According to extradition court documents, Armando Bella is wanted on suspicion of involvement in 12 acts of theft.
He will be released on bail after his relatives posted a £10,000 bail bond and will be fitted with a GPS tracker. He will also have to report to Southend-on-Sea police station every Saturday and Sunday.
Arben Kananaj is another Albanian against whom the extradition process to France has begun in a London court.
He is wanted by French justice on suspicion of involvement in 21 house robberies on French territory. Extradition documents seen by TCh show that in England, Arban Kananaj, 50, used the name Arben Berisha.
He has been released on bail until 13/03/2026 when the extradition request will be heard at Westminster Magistrates Court. Kananaj's bail is set at £5,000.
