The Saranda Prosecutor's Office has placed under seizure a series of properties worth several million euros belonging to citizen Adriatik Kalemi, 53 years old.
According to an official announcement, Kalemi's 12 bank accounts, 1 boat, 4 vehicles, as well as apartments, premises and land he owned in Saranda, Tirana, Rradhimë of Vlorës and Memaliaj have been placed under seizure.
"In charge of citizen AK, 53 years old, resident of Saranda, with criminal precedents in the field of crimes against the person, trafficking and narcotics, as a person suspected of committing the criminal offense "Laundering of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".
Regarding this case, the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda, with the decision dated 31.07.2025, has imposed preventive seizure on the assets of this citizen, specifically:
* In Saranda: 103 m² service premises and 123.1 m² property.
* In Tirana: Apartment 78.4 m², building plot 60.12 m², shop 103 m² and field 800 m².
* In Rradhimë, Vlorë: Property 36 m², property 485 m² and property 619 m².
* In Memaliaj, Tepelena: Property 386 m², land 650 m² and another property.
Movable assets: 1 boat, 4 vehicles and 12 bank accounts.
"Under the direction of the Saranda Prosecutor's Office, work continues to identify and seize other assets that may have been registered in the names of other persons, by these citizens or their family members," the official announcement states.
So who is Adriatik Kalemi?
He was arrested in 2024 in an operation, and was seized with firearms, a significant amount of ammunition, and thousands of euros.
Along with Kalemi, Julian Kalemi and the murderer of businessman Edmond Papa, Andrew Bode, were also arrested in the same operation.
Adriatik Kalemi turns out to be a person with a criminal record dating back to 2001. He turns out to have been arrested by the RENEA special forces, after being declared internationally wanted by the Belgian justice authorities, after being accused of having, in collaboration with his brother Fatmir Kalemi, killed the Albanian brothers Mevlan and Adriatik Çaça, an event that occurred in Anderlecht, Belgium, on April 13, 2001.
In 2017, he was arrested in Tirana along with 2 other people after, while under the influence of alcohol, they collaborated with each other to oppose a police officer on duty, disrupting public order and peace, while a fourth person who was with them hit police officer EV in the head with an iron bar, who was taken to the hospital.
In 2023, Kalemi managed to escape an attack at the high-security prison "Koridhalos" in Athens, while an Egyptian prisoner stabbed him with a knife. Adriatik Kalemi was injured around December 14 or 15, and the first suspicions are that he was the target of an attempted murder. He was also the target of an attack on August 9, 2023, on the island of Paxos in Greece, while he was vacationing with his family.
On July 20, 2024, Kalemi's father, Shyqyri Kalemi, was killed in a gun attack. The motive for the attack is suspected to be a continuation of the saga of the murders of Aleksandër Sadikaj and Edmond Papa.
Kalemi is a first cousin of Aleksandër Sadikaj, precisely the son of the victim's uncle, who was killed with TNT while driving his vehicle in an area near Sauk in Tirana.
