But why did Sali Berisha initially attack the protesters as Sorosites and wretched, then support them and today decide to join the protest, whose dominant banner is 'Rama in prison, Berisha in prison'?
For 13 years, Edi Rama has been keeping power through the 'peaceful revolution', the opening and closing of the party like an accordion, the discovery of internal enemies and 'heroic resistance', benefiting from government favors, concessions and tribute from the oligarchs. On the eighth day of the most massive, spontaneous, civic, European and artistic protests in the history of pluralism in Albania, which have in fact shaken the government, Sali Berisha throws Fahri's son with the Molotov cocktail group, the flag without a stick and his deputies who have alienated hundreds of hectares of land in the Bay of Lalzit to dirty, deform and sabotage the protest.
But why did Sali Berisha initially attack the protesters as Sorosites and wretched, then support them and today decide to join the protest, whose dominant banner is 'Rama in prison, Berisha in prison'?
Sali Berisha's metamorphosis in relation to the protest can be explained by a development of recent days. On June 2, which coincides with the second day of the protest, the project of "Herzog & de Meuron Basel Ltd" was declared the winner by the government for the requalification for the construction of a 260-meter-high tower at the Palace of Congresses, an investment of hundreds of millions of euros. The tower, which will be functionally connected to the current building of the Palace of Congresses, will have a multifunctional character for a hotel and offices.
It is no secret that behind the project stands Shkëlzeni, through one of his prestanomes, who surprisingly turns out to be the owner of land from Velipoja to Ksamil. In political and media circles, the project for the redevelopment of the Palace of Congresses is called 'Zen's Tower'. After the towers in the center, in the former Block and near the Lake Park, always through his mask, Shkëlzeni will also build the tower at the Palace of Congresses with dubious money.
If the son-in-law, with over 50 assets worth tens of millions of euros, is behind the construction of several palace complexes from Tirana to Pogradec, including 19 towers on the alienated public property of the former Partizani Club, Shkëlzeni is behind the main towers that the Rama government has approved over the last 10 years in Tirana, camouflaging himself behind three businessmen. Given these powerful family interests, Sali Berisha's metamorphosis should not only be understood, but it is not surprising that in the coming days he will appear on the steps of the Prime Minister's Office, at the forefront of the protest with the motto 'Rama in prison, Berisha in prison'.
