SPAK begins property investigation against Minister Ferit Hoxha; his brother,
Ferit Hoxha and Ergys Agasi /

Gëzim Hoxha, brother of Minister Ferit Hoxha, is under investigation as part of the 'Agasi' criminal group, with 3 criminal measures and the seizure of 1.3 million euros. According to the 'Anti-Mafia' Law, the property investigation has also been extended to his brother, the minister, but the BKH has discovered that Ferit Hoxha has not declared his assets since 2005, neither as an ambassador for 30 years, nor as Minister of Foreign Affairs...

At meetings on Albania's integration into the EU, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, also informs the leaders of the Council of Europe about the achievements in the fight against corruption and organized crime.

But the morality of Minister Ferit Hoxha's propaganda becomes "zero" in the eyes of international partners, due to the fact that his brother Gëzim Hoxha is the subject of an investigation by SPAK, for corruption and participation in the "Agasi" structured criminal group.

The Foreign Minister's brother is facing 3 criminal measures: blocking his passport, banning him from leaving the territory of Albania, the obligation to appear before SPAK investigators, and the seizure of 1.3 million euros, with indications as proceeds from criminal activity with AKSHI tenders.

But according to the "Anti-Mafia" Law, the crackdown on Gëzim Hoxha has also extended the action to his brother, Minister Ferit Hoxha, to verify and investigate whether any suspicious financial transactions have been committed between them.

Information received by "Pamphlet" from sources within the BKH reveals that a process of investigation into personal and family assets and those of persons related to him, including his wife, has begun against the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha.

This property investigation has begun in implementation of Law No. 10192, dated December 3, 2009, amended by Law No. 24/2014, with the object: "Preventing and combating organized crime and corruption, through measures against illegal assets".

Minister Ferit Hoxha is the subject of a property investigation, because his brother Gëzim Hoxha has been criminally prosecuted as part of the "Agasi" structured criminal group, which has benefited from public funds and assets through corruption, pressure and violence against rivals in tenders and auctions.

According to the "Anti-Mafia" Law, in addition to persons part of a structured criminal group, a property investigation is also conducted on their family members, up to the seventh link of the family tree chain of in-laws, on suspicion that the defendant may have hidden assets obtained from criminal activity.

In addition to implementing the "Anti-Mafia" law, several verifications and indications of concealment of assets by the defendant Gëzim Hoxha have set in motion the SPAK and through it the BKH, to begin an investigation into the assets of the minister's brother Ferit Hoxha and his close family network.

The assets of Minister Hoxha, his wife and her family members inside and outside Albania will be investigated, because there are indications that Gëzim Hoxha has hidden monetary values and assets in the name of his brother, a former ambassador, for 30 years and their close family network.

According to the information, the asset investigation will be in-depth, given the fact that the BKH, after the first verification actions at the ILDKPI, has not found a personal and family asset declaration file from Ferit Hoxha since 2005.

Although he was legally obliged to declare his assets as Albania's ambassador to France, the EU, UNESCO, the UN, and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he did not even make an asset declaration after being appointed minister./ Pamphlet
