Bashkim Ulaj's tricks with 147 hectares of land, the shame of Shkodra MPs,
Protests in Rrjoll /

147 hectares of land for Bashkim Ulaj's resort, residents clash with special forces, while politics keeps quiet about a project that unites blue and pink interests...

Even after the Administrative Court's decision in favor of the Bashkim Ulaj project, the residents of Rrjoll continue their resistance against the construction of the resort on land they consider theirs. Hundreds of police forces have been deployed in the area, while the prime minister remains silent and the opposition avoids direct confrontation. The project, declared a "strategic investment", is turning into a political test for the two camps, which, although clashing in words, seem to be united in silence when it comes to the oligarchs.

Even after the Administrative Court's decision in favor of Bashkim Ulaj, the residents of Rrjoll in Velipojë have not stopped protesting against the resort project, signed by Edi Rama with documents suspected of being forged, which, according to them, robbed 147 hectares of land.

Even on Saturday, the Director of the State Police, Ilir Proda, on the orders of Prime Minister Edi Rama, has launched hundreds of police and special forces against the residents, to remove them from their lands and to guarantee the continuation of the Mulla Baksimi works.

While the residents of Rrjoll are facing police violence, Prime Minister Edi Rama is silent. He is the signatory of the decisions that paved the way for the project, while the beneficiary is his client Bashkim Ulaj, at whose service the state police are also deployed.

In the same line of silence as the Prime Minister is the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha. Bashkim Ulaj is considered an old friend and beneficiary of public contracts during his government.

During the years 2005–2013, Ulaj obtained tenders, land, concessions for hydroelectric power plants, and construction permits for large projects, consolidating himself as one of the most powerful businessmen in the construction and energy sectors.

Sali Berisha has been asked several times by journalists why he does not support the protest of the Rrjoll residents and why he does not have a clear stance on the project. He has responded by casting doubts on the ownership issue and avoiding directly mentioning Bashkim Ulaj's name.

Although it is known that a year before the production of cadastral documents for the project, Edi Rama approved Bashkim Ulaj's "Strategic Investor" status, Berisha has not taken a direct stance on this fact.

He also did not react to the deployment of around 150 police forces in the area to deal with the protests.

Regarding the silence of Shkodra MPs from both sides of politics; Kliti Hoti, Bardh Spahia, Ramadan Lika, Greta Bardeli, Luçiano Boçi, Marjana Koçeku, Xhenis Çela, Onid Bejleri and Bujar Raxha, their absence on the ground has been noticed by residents.

Rumors are circulating in Shkodra that the project has broad political support and that reactions are cautious due to business connections and shared interests./ Pamphlet
