The US Embassy in Pristina has congratulated the formation of the new government of Kosovo and expressed its readiness for close cooperation with the new executive. Meanwhile, in Albania there was no similar reaction after the formation of the new government...
Despite the invitation to the Peace Board, Edi Rama seems to be largely ignored by the Americans. No matter how much the Albanian prime minister has tried for a year to curry favor with the Trump administration, both with Richard Grenell and with Kushner, he has still not succeeded.
Trump has been in the White House for over a year and Rama has not made any official visits to the US, while in Tirana he has often been ignored by the Americans. In November, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Mark Fleming, came to Tirana. He held many meetings, but ignored Rama.
In recent days, the Director of the Office for Europe and Asia of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the State Department, Mark Tervakoski, was in Tirana. He met with the president, the heads of SPAK, BKH and many others, but not Rama.
But the biggest blow came to Edi Rama today. The US Embassy in Pristina congratulated the formation of the new Kosovo government.
Although there have been many clashes with Kurti and even been threatened with sanctions several times, the US has once again extended a hand of cooperation to Kurti: " The US Embassy welcomes the formation of the Kosovo assembly and government. We look forward to working with the new government to advance shared priorities, including regional peace, stability, and mutual economic prosperity ."
But this statement contradicts that of the US embassy in Tirana, made after the May 11 elections. Apart from being 2 weeks late, the embassy's response did not offer any congratulations to the winner: " We congratulate the people of Albania on the parliamentary elections and look forward to continuing our close partnership with Albania ."
Meanwhile, when the new government was formed, there was no reaction whatsoever, unlike what happened today with Kosovo. So, Rama, long live the Peace Board, as it is clear that the Americans do not care much about it. Even behind the Board, most likely, other interests are hidden and it is no wonder that Albania is filled with Palestinians. / Pamphlet
