When Vangjel Tavo was Minister of Health during the PD-LSI government, he "ate like a mouse", because he handed over the portion he earned from tenders to Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi, even from the millions of jobs in the ministry and hospitals.
Meanwhile, during his 20 months as mayor of Himara, Vangjeli is "eating like a bear", as he takes most of the millions he collects from bidding on tenders himself, as an agreement with Babloku, in exchange for signing land grabbing and construction permits on the coast.
This freedom of abuse with public funds also includes the fabricated tender for services that are recorded and reflected in the financial documents of the Municipality of Himara, but are not measured in physical units like public investments.
Such is the tender that Vangjel Tavo announced in the Public Procurement Bulletin dated April 20, 2026, with the subject of the contract: "Organization of annual artistic and cultural activities of the Municipality of Himara".
This tender is worth a limited fund of 600 million lek including VAT, from tax revenues, which will be spent on artistic and cultural activities, which only Mayor Vangjel Tavo knows what theme they will have and for what motive they will be carried out.
It could be payments for songs and dances, when Babloku or MPs go to meetings, and the private company that will receive these millions will declare them as entertainment for municipality employees and residents.
We are not saying that artistic and cultural activities should not be held, but 600 million lek is a very large amount and a waste of money if the activities are to be held, when in Himara and the villages of this municipality, residents have urgent needs for roads, water supply lines, water and irrigation canals.
However, Vangjeli has planned to spend 600 million lek on artistic activities and has decided to hold the tender on May 18, 2026.
While on April 14, he held a tender worth 113 million old lek for the 2026 summer season opening activity, and 83 million old lek for the gathering of people who will applaud his speech./ Pamphlet
