Three Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow were shot down by Russian air defense systems yesterday evening.
The mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said experts are examining the remains of the drones in the areas where they fell.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that in a three-hour period, 38 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted and destroyed in two Russian regions in the southern part of the country and on the Crimean peninsula, which Russia invaded and annexed in 2014.
Russian air defenses said they shot down 98 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions, the country's defense ministry said. 11 drones, including six that were headed for the Russian capital, were destroyed over the Moscow region.
