
The toll from the tragedy deepens after a massive fire engulfed eight skyscrapers in Hong Kong, China.
At least 36 deaths have been confirmed and 279 others are missing after a fire engulfed several apartment buildings in Hong Kong's Tai Po district.
It is reported that 29 people were injured, seven of whom are in critical condition. The shocking figures keep coming and going as authorities confirm the number of victims.
Flames are still active on the bamboo scaffolding of the buildings, while images of the massive fire quickly circulated online.
128 fire engines, 57 ambulances, 767 firefighters and 400 police officers were involved in the firefighting operation. More than 700 people were also transferred to five shelters set up by the Tai Po local office.

The deadliest fire in Hong Kong in decades broke out this afternoon at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex in Tai Po, in the region's northern New Territories. The complex consists of eight towers containing about 2,000 apartments housing about 4,800 people.
