Russia will not accept any concessions on fundamental points related to the conflict in Ukraine, while noting that Kiev continues to receive weapons and intelligence information from the United States. Moscow also emphasizes that regarding any attempt at a diplomatic solution to the war, it is “in constant contact” with China.
The statements were made by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov at a time when American diplomacy has intensified efforts to find a solution to the war in Ukraine.
On the one hand, Ryabkov said that Moscow “welcomes” the American initiative. On the other hand, he clearly stated that “there can be no talk of concessions or steps back” regarding Russia’s position on key issues in the process of resolving disputes, including those related to the “special military operation.”
He added that some elements of the recent meeting between the presidents of Russia and the US in Anchorage "already represent compromise solutions," as President Putin has also emphasized.
Ryabkov also underlined that, at the moment, Russia is "not ready to publicly discuss any details" of Trump's plan for Ukraine, including its various variants.
According to the deputy minister, Russia's position remains unchanged and all further discussions will take place only through diplomatic channels.
