Tehran accuses Washington of violating the memorandum of understanding and suspends implementation of all commitments. The Iranian attacks extend to Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, while the Gulf countries describe them as "war crimes."
Iran has announced the suspension of all obligations arising from the Memorandum of Understanding with the United States, marking a new deterioration in relations between the two countries, as military clashes in the Middle East continue to intensify.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that the decision was taken after, according to Tehran, Washington has already violated and suspended all its commitments under the agreement.
" We were in the process of negotiations, but the Americans themselves took military action, violating their obligations. Our priority now is the defense of the country ," he declared.
The Memorandum of Understanding was reached after weeks of clashes and was considered the first step towards full negotiations between Tehran and Washington. However, the resumption of fighting led, according to Iran, to the collapse of the agreement.
Gharibabad's statements come a few days after US President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire had ended, following an Iranian drone attack on a ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, also expressed the same view, saying that there is currently no plan to resume talks with the US, emphasizing that Tehran remains focused on defending the country and responding to American attacks.
Meanwhile, tensions in the region have escalated further. According to Iranian authorities, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has struck targets linked to US forces in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.
On the other hand, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohammed Al Budaiwi, condemned Iranian attacks on civilian infrastructure in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait, calling them "war crimes."
" Iran's actions constitute an extremely dangerous escalation, a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, as well as war crimes, given the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure ," he declared.
According to Kuwaiti authorities, the country was hit by repeated rocket and drone attacks. A desalination plant was damaged, while Kuwait International Airport temporarily suspended operations due to ongoing threats.
The Revolutionary Guards claimed to have struck the Camp Arifjan military base, used by US forces, as well as a radar installation at Ali Al Salem air base. Later, the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced that one of its facilities was damaged by Iranian attacks, causing significant damage and injuries.
Kuwait's armed forces said they intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles and drones overnight, while several firefighters and oil sector workers were injured.
Tehran said the attacks were in retaliation for US bombings of bridges, energy facilities and other infrastructure in Iran.
" If there is no international institution to stop the brutality of the US armed forces, we have no choice but to implement the Quranic command: 'Against whoever attacks you, attack in kind, '" the Revolutionary Guards said in a statement, which warned US regional allies that they could face further attacks.
The Iranian Ministry of Health announced that over the past three weeks, 50 people have been killed and more than 500 injured by US attacks.
Iranian state media also reported that the Revolutionary Guards struck the Sheikh Isa air base in Bahrain, which houses US fighter jets, as well as an intelligence services data center.
According to Iranian state media, the Guard claimed to have destroyed at least two US warplanes and three other aircraft during a missile and drone attack on the US Al Azraq base in Jordan. Reuters said it could not independently verify these claims.
For the first time in about three months, Iran also launched attacks on Saudi Arabia, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Air raid alerts were activated in Al Kharj, east of Riyadh, and in Yanbu, on the Red Sea coast.
According to these sources, one of the targets was the Prince Sultan Air Base in Al Kharj, where US forces are stationed. Saudi media did not provide an explanation for the activation of the alarms, while authorities did not comment on the developments. The Revolutionary Guard made no official reference to attacks on Saudi Arabia.
