Iran's supreme leader accuses the US of violating the ceasefire and threatens "unforgettable lessons," while his absence from the public scene fuels speculation about whether he is still alive.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has spoken out for the first time since the resumption of hostilities with the United States, accusing Washington of repeatedly violating a memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries. However, the statement was only published in writing, further raising doubts about his condition and fate.

In a message published on the X platform, Khamenei called the US the "Great Satan" and stated that the continued violations of the agreement show that "the signature of the American president has no value and no credibility."

"The repeated violations of the memorandum of understanding by the Great Satan have proven once again that the signature of the US president is completely worthless and unreliable," the statement said.

He also accused Washington of "pressure, hegemonic ambitions and brutality," warning that the Iranian people and the "Axis of Resistance" have reserved "unforgettable lessons" for the United States if the conflict escalates.

The statement comes just hours after Tehran announced the suspension of its commitments under the interim agreement with the United States, as clashes between the two countries have returned to intensity. In recent days, US forces have carried out new attacks on Iranian targets, while Iran has responded with attacks on commercial ships and targets in Gulf countries that host US bases.

Despite the statement issued on his behalf, the mystery surrounding Mojtaba Khamenei continues. He has not appeared in public since the US-Israeli attacks at the beginning of the war, in which he was reportedly wounded, while his father and predecessor as supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed.

His prolonged absence has fueled speculation in Iran and abroad about whether he is still alive or able to carry out his duties. All messages published on his behalf have been in written form only, with no public appearances or video messages.

According to Al Arabiya, citing an Iranian official, Mojtaba Khamenei is not expected to appear in public until the end of the war.

The memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran, approved by Khamenei despite his reservations, aimed to end military operations and restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The agreement collapsed in less than a month, after renewed US attacks and Iranian retaliation, raising fears of a return to full-scale war between the two countries.
