US President Donald Trump, speaking about the conflict with Iran, stated that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is more urgent than fuel prices.
Regarding the rising cost of living in the US due to the blockade of oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, Trump unconcernedly said that prices would soon come down.
"The main urgency is that we cannot allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. We have tremendous amounts of energy. We are blessed with something very special. Those prices are going to come down. They are going to come down fast," Trump told reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
He also added that he would not accept a deal in which Iran hands over enriched uranium to Russia or China. He also added that he would rule out easing sanctions on Iran.
" No, I wouldn't feel comfortable. No sanctions, no money, no nothing. We'll keep that money under control and when they behave properly and do what's right, we'll give them their money. But right now, we're not doing that ," Trump added.
The US president reiterated that if a perfect deal is not reached with Iran, the US will withdraw from the talks.
"We might get a good deal now, but maybe not a great deal, and if it's not a great deal, we won't do it," he said, as he attacked Barack Obama's 2015 nuclear deal.
