A Chicago grocery delivery driver was involved in an unusual chase with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents after provoking them by shouting slogans against Donald Trump and declaring that "I am not an American citizen."
The incident, filmed and widely shared on social media, shows the man on the bike speeding away as several federal agents pursue him on foot and in vehicles.
According to American media, the courier shouted "f*** Trump" and "I'm not American," which apparently prompted the agents' immediate reaction. However, he managed to leave without being stopped.
The footage has reignited debates over the aggressive methods used by CBP and US federal agencies during field operations, especially against immigrants and undocumented people.
In recent years, the operations of these forces have been accompanied by numerous controversies in the US, as in some cases the interventions have turned into scenes of tension and violence, even with casualties. Human rights organizations have repeatedly accused federal authorities of excessive use of force and aggressive pursuit during checks on immigrants.
