After several hours of speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, where demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama were repeated, the 35th nationwide protest continued with a massive march on the streets of Tirana.
Amidst placards, banners, calls against the government and symbolic "surprises" organized on the occasion of the Prime Minister's birthday, thousands of protesters have headed towards "Mine Peza" street, where protesters arrested after clashes with police during Thursday's demonstration are in custody.
With the cries of "Free the boys", "Your end has come", activists and citizens are marching to express support for the arrested and to oppose their detention. Currently, the column of protesters is passing by the National Museum, heading towards the area near the Police Station No. 3 on "Mine Peza" street.
The next day, the arrested protesters are expected to appear before the Criminal Court for the determination of security measures. Organizers have announced that the protest will continue tomorrow, starting at 09:00 in front of the Court, in support of the detainees and with the request for their release.
