During his speech at the protest, journalist Renaldo Salianji accused the government of taking measures to prevent citizens from Kosovo from joining the rally in Albania.
Salianji stated that, according to him, the state "has committed another shame", claiming that the border with Kosovo was closed in an attempt to prevent the participation of Albanians from Kosovo in the protest.
"In a panic, it closed the border with Kosovo in the hope that Kosovo Albanians would not come here. Albanians were not stopped by the Yugoslav border and no longer by Edi Rama's beams to be close to each other. They found their way and are here today in the square with us," he said.
In his speech, Salianji also brought the example of a family that, according to him, had participated in the protest with three generations.
"I saw a grandfather, father and grandson coming to the protest. You understand how sad it is that three generations have the same desire and how difficult it must be for a politician to be opposed by children to pensioners ," he said.
The journalist also criticized the way in which, according to him, the government has used public funds, comparing the lack of firefighting equipment to the presence of vehicles used to disperse protesters.
"This country doesn't have fire trucks to put out fires in the summer, but it has water trucks to disperse peaceful protesters. If the funds for these vehicles had been used to buy fire trucks, today we would have more forests and fewer corrupt politicians," he declared.
