Activist Sidorela Vatnikaj spoke at the 35th nationwide protest in Tirana, where she focused on the phenomenon of emigration, the departure of young people, and the need for change.
She said that in the protesters she sees the history of thousands of Albanians who have been forced to leave the country for a better life.
"In your faces I see the face of my brother, an excellent student who today works as a construction worker in New York. At the same time, I see faith, I see solidarity for a new Albania that we alone will build. Today in your faces I see the face of a new Albania without the autocrat Edi Rama, without oligarchs who privatize us and without owners of the media that serve you," said the activist.
Vatnikaj also stated that emigration should no longer be the solution for Albanians and called for justice that, according to her, applies to everyone.
"We are here so that our mothers will no longer see us off with tears in their eyes. We have been away for 36 years, we will not leave again. You leave. I want to say that I am here with the belief that the new Albania has a justice system that investigates Edi Rama, the oligarchs, the autocrats and those who have stolen from us ," concluded Vatnikaj.
