Citizens continued the 31st protest with a march towards the Prime Minister's Office, while banners with slogans and political messages became one of the most prominent elements of the rally.
The civic protest in Tirana continued this evening, entering its 31st day. As in previous days, citizens and activists initially gathered at "Skënderbej" Square, from where they began the march towards the Prime Minister's Office building.
After arriving in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the protesters will deliver their speeches, where they will also reiterate their demands to the government. At their conclusion, the march continued on some of the main streets of the capital.
In addition to the calls and speeches, the banners held by the protesters also attracted the attention of those present. With ironic slogans, photomontages and political messages, they became one of the most prominent elements of the protest.
One of the banners bore the inscription "Wanted", while another addressed the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) with the message in English: "SPAK, what are you waiting for? Justice can't wait", demanding action from the prosecution.
Other banners read: "31 days. Rama posts. Balluku enjoys. The people protest" and "The people are violated, Balluku is honored," while another conveyed the message: "The more you mock us, the more we grow. The people are not mocked. They wake up!"
Protesters also held banners calling for resignation, such as "We know what you did… Resign", while another brought attention to the tragedy of Gërdec and the debates over strategic investments with the slogan: "Yesterday they killed us with explosions, today they steal from us with 'investments'".
Among the messages displayed was a banner with the inscription "35 years of power. Three names. One destiny: Accountability", accompanied by photomontages of political figures, as well as another with the cry: "O Rama, you better listen, otherwise you will end up here!"
The banners were accompanied by cheers and national flags throughout the march, while organizers have announced that the protests will continue in the coming days.
