Former DP MP Ervin Salianji visited the parents of Martin Cani, the 14-year-old who was killed by his peer outside the 9-year-old "Fan Noli" school, in their apartment.
In a message on the social network Facebook, Salianji writes that such events should never be forgotten, because they are alarm bells for all of us.
"Today I was visiting Martin Can's wonderful parents, to honor his memory and share their pain.
But this is not enough. Institutions have the obligation to hold those responsible accountable, not to hide their guilt behind excuses, and in parallel to take clear measures: restructuring school security, the presence of psychologists and social workers in every educational institution, and educational programs that prevent violence among young people.
"School should be the place where our children grow, learn and dream in peace – not a place where they risk their lives. The memory of Martin Can should serve as a call to action, so that such tragedies do not happen again," writes former MP Ervin Salianji.
