Candidate for head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, spoke at the High Prosecutorial Council regarding his experience in investigating important cases involving senior state officials and justice officials.
Braho emphasized that in a number of cases, his requests for security measures have not been accepted by the court, but after appeals filed by him, the Court of Appeals has ruled in accordance with the prosecution's requests.
Further, candidate Braho also highlighted the work done in terms of cracking down on assets acquired from criminal activity, highlighting an important case from 2023, where 18.4 million euros were confiscated, an amount double the SPAK budget at that time.
"Some of the cases were developed before SPAK was created. I have presented criminal cases with senior state officials and justice functionaries, for whom the court has not always accepted the requests for punishment. In these cases, I have filed an appeal and the Appeals Court has decided according to the prosecutor's request.
Regarding senior officials or organized crime, I have requested the confiscation of assets. I would like to bring to your attention a case in 2023, an amount of 18.4 million euros was confiscated, originally from criminal activity, which belonged to a criminal organization. I bring to your attention that this amount is double the SPAK budget in that year, which was 8.9 million euros," said Braho.
