Analyst Agim Baçi has described the debate between Adriatik Lapaj and Endri Shabani as a debate that will cost him more than one mandate.
Baçi said that if the largest number of votes in the May 11 elections is being discussed, Lapaj deserves the mandate, but according to the analyst, he should stick to the statement he made, that if he were to receive a mandate, he would not enter parliament.
"It is a great sadness that there are two young people who have claimed a change in the political status quo and with the debate it is not that they have lost a mandate but they have lost a future. For me, the mandate belongs to Lapaj, those people who are on the closed list regardless of the fact that it is an electoral trick, they have not given up their candidacy, not their mandate. Until the moment when it turned out that he was a relative of Shabani, I realized that the debate is between Lapaj and Shabani.
If we take the voting process in principle and if we talk about the open list, the one who received the most votes is Lapaj. But this debate will cost them a lot. The mistake they made before the elections that they failed to come together is being deepened with this type of conflict and it is difficult to talk about a coalition of these parties. Lapaj would not have lost anything if he had kept his statement, that if he won a mandate he would not enter the assembly. Lapaj has declared that they are preventing me from entering the assembly. Today he has taken a step back but what has happened is difficult to undo, but the blow is for the future, they have both lost their political perspective. They will say that these are young but they are acting with old language, they are talking about a chair not for the future of Albania. They will be known as the coalition of uncle and aunt ", Baçi told News24.
