Real Madrid has announced that it has submitted an official written statement to UEFA regarding the case known as "Negreira", which continues to be under investigation by sporting and institutional authorities in Spain.
In its statement, the Madrid club announced that it has made documents and evidence available to UEFA that, according to it, reinforce the indications previously made public regarding the suspected payments made by Barcelona to José María Enríquez Negreira, former vice-president of the Technical Referees Committee at the Spanish Football Federation.
According to Real Madrid, these payments are suspected to have been made through various corporate structures and are not accompanied by a verifiable financial justification.
The club emphasizes that the documentation submitted aims to assist UEFA's disciplinary bodies in investigating the matter and contribute to the full clarification of the circumstances surrounding this case.
The “Negreira” case remains one of the most debated scandals in Spanish and European football in recent years. Meanwhile, the relevant investigations continue and there is still no final decision from the competent institutions.
