The 45-year-old Turkish man, Bilal Kara, 45, wanted by Tirana Police as one of the two co-shareholders of the private clinic International Medicare that was blocked today, turns out to be the Honorary Consul of North Macedonia in Izmir (Turkey).
He was elected as Honorary Consul 2 years ago, with the signature of Bujar Osmani, Foreign Minister of North Macedonia at the time.
Bilal Kara is also the chairman of the Turkey-North Macedonia Business Council at the Council for Foreign Economic Relations (DEIK) since 2018.
Likewise, Bilal Kara turns out to be a member of the Albania-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Turku is the owner of the Sante Plus hospital group, which also includes the private clinic in Tirana, International Medicare. The administrator of this clinic, Edmond Zaja, 62, is the only one arrested today.
Meanwhile, Turkish Bilal Kara and 32-year-old Gerjana Arapi, both co-shareholders, have been declared wanted.
This clinic, for more than 1 year, did not declare profits worth 1 million euros. In addition, it was discovered that hospital services were performed at the clinic with prohibited, expired and smuggled products. The investigation also revealed that 5 employees were uninsured.
